Group infrared and traditional sauna and cold plunge experiences – together or on your own
Why People Do This
Sauna and cold exposure have been practiced for centuries across cultures, while red light therapy has emerged more recently through scientific study — each offering distinct benefits that continue to be explored and understood
Infrared heat penetrates more directly than traditional sauna heat, supporting circulation and muscle relaxation at lower ambient temperatures. It is often favored for recovery-focused sessions and athletic use.
Infrared Sauna

More +
High-heat exposure promotes sweating, circulation, and heat adaptation. Regular sauna use has been associated with cardiovascular and relaxation benefits across cultures for centuries.
Traditional Sauna

More +
Brief cold exposure stimulates alertness, circulation, and stress-response pathways. Many people use cold plunging to support resilience, mood regulation, and recovery.
Cold Plunge

Red and near-infrared light have been shown in clinical studies to support collagen production and overall skin appearance. Research also explores their role in cellular energy production and tissue recovery.

These tools can be used in different ways, at different intensities, for different people.
Traditional Sauna
Our traditional sauna is custom built for Nuvania by Mountain Mist, a Longmont-based company. Crafted from hemlock wood and powered by a 21kW commercial heater, the space features three-tier seating that comfortably accommodates up to 15 guests, with natural temperature variation depending on tier selection. The layout and entry are designed to welcome ADA guests.
Cold Plunges
There are two cold plunges on site. One is a group plunge accommodating up to 12 people and one is a stand alone plunge accommodating one person. Both are made by Coldtub™, a family owned, vertically integrated American company. Both plunges feature continuous filtration, treated by electrolytic chlorinators that monitor and automatically adjust water chemistry, and NSF 50 filtration. The group plunge is sunk within the floor, welcoming ADA guest access.
Infrared Sauna
Our infrared sauna is custom built for Nuvania by Sunlighten®, an American, vertically integrated manufacturer known for carbon-based infrared technology. Crafted from eucalyptus wood and lined with floor-to-ceiling FAR infrared panels, the space is designed to comfortably accommodate 8–12 guests. Removable benches allow us to host yoga sessions and ensure accessibility for ADA guests when needed.
Red Light Therapy
Our red light therapy system delivers 630nm and 660nm red wavelengths, along with 810nm and 830nm near-infrared wavelengths — selected to provide broad-spectrum photobiomodulation coverage. The system is manufactured to IEC safety standards for electrical and photobiological performance. Dual panels (front and back) allow for greater surface area exposure in less time. The room is designed to welcome ADA guests, with adjustable panel spacing and a wide-entry doorway.
Amenities
Towels are provided, and a filtered water station supports hydration throughout your visit. Full locker rooms provide space to reset and refresh, while a dedicated lounge offers room to unwind — along with additional elements designed to complement your session.
